Frequently asked questions

Answers to what residents ask most

What is KRID and who can register?

KRID (Katsina Resident Identity) is the unified digital identity platform for residents of Katsina State. Any resident can register to receive a unique KRID number that supports access to government programs and digital services.

What do I need to complete my registration?

You will need your personal details (name, date of birth, gender), contact information (phone and email), your location (LGA and ward), and your identity numbers (NIN and BVN). You will also complete a biometric face capture during enrollment.

Why is biometric face capture required?

Face capture with liveness checks helps confirm that each registration belongs to a real, unique resident. This reduces duplicate records and impersonation, and helps make sure public services reach genuine residents.

My face capture keeps failing. What should I do?

Make sure you are in a well-lit area, hold your device at eye level, and remove anything that covers your face. Follow the on-screen liveness prompts steadily. If it still fails after several attempts, you can try again later or contact our support team for assistance.

When will I receive my KRID number?

Once your registration and identity capture are processed, your resident record is created and your KRID number is linked to your account. You can view it any time from your dashboard.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

On the sign-in page, choose the password reset option and follow the verification steps sent to your registered phone or email. For your security, never share your one-time codes or password with anyone.

Is my personal and biometric data safe?

Your data is handled in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and applicable Katsina State regulations. You can read the full details in our Privacy Policy.
